At Lambda Chi Alpha, we bond through shared experiences, common goals, and lifelong friendships. Rush Overview

Fraternity recruitment, or “Rush,” is coordinated by the University Park Interfraternity Council (UPIFC) and occurs in both the fall and spring semesters. Over 7–10 days, you’ll have the chance to meet different fraternities and learn what makes each unique. Rush includes both open events and invite-only opportunities, and every chapter follows a similar schedule.

Selection

Rush is all about finding the right fit. You’ll decide which fraternities resonate with you, and we’ll do the same. At Lambda Chi, our recruitment committee carefully evaluates candidates. We encourage you to attend as many events as possible and connect with our brothers — especially those on the rush committee.

If we believe you’re a strong fit, you’ll be invited to exclusive events. Final bids are extended to select men at the end of the rush process. Lambda Chi has one of the most selective recruitment processes at USC, typically offering around 50 bids from 700-900 potential new members across both fall and spring rushes every academic year.

Time Commitment

After accepting your bid, you will become an Associate member. Associate membership in Lambda Chi requires dedication. Candidates should expect to spend time with the fraternity almost daily, whether at the house, at events, or with brothers. Before accepting a bid, we ask that you consider the time commitment and discuss any concerns with us.

Financial Expectations

Dues are required for membership in Lambda Chi Alpha at USC These funds support chapter operations, events, and amenities, including a full meal plan. Members enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday through Thursday, plus Friday brunch. This fee also covers all national fraternity dues and candidate initiation costs.

We do not offer scholarships; however, we are able to offer exceptions on a need-basis. Every brother pays equally — ensuring fairness and access to everything Lambda Chi Alpha offers.

  • Chapter House Tours: Meet our brothers and explore the house.

  • Invite-Only Events: Get to know us in a smaller, more personal setting.

  • Rush Events: Enjoy on-campus and off-campus gatherings designed to help you experience Lambda Chi culture.

  • Formal Dinners: Select candidates are invited to special dinners with our brothers.

  • Bid Day: The most exciting day of rush — when we officially welcome new members into the brotherhood!
